Lineman (Electrical Line Construction)

Location: Edmonton, Canada; traveling field work at designated company or field locations

What you will do

• Construct and maintain underground, transmission, substation, distribution, and wind-farm electrical systems.
• Set poles, string and tune overhead wire, and maintain overhead distribution and transmission lines.
• Install and maintain insulators, transformers, and other electrical equipment.
• Plan and initiate projects while following customer and occupational health and safety requirements.
• Supervise groundmen and apprentices and maintain regular, predictable attendance.

Requirements

• Current qualification as a Journeyman Power-Lineman with documentation of program completion.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to work at heights of up to and above 100 feet.
• Ability to understand drawings and details, follow workplace directions, communicate effectively, and work in a team.
• Strong safety awareness and compliance with company safety rules.
