Senior Platform Engineer (Kubernetes)

Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Cologne, Berlin, or Munich (Hybrid: 2 days/week in office)

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate production-grade Kubernetes clusters across hybrid cloud and on-prem infrastructure.
• Take ownership of the reliability, capacity, and cost efficiency of compute infrastructure, including CPU and GPU resources.
• Unify workload management across on-prem hardware and AWS to provide a self-service foundation for product and research teams.
• Define infrastructure-as-code standards and strengthen observability and security across the platform.
• Lead incident response for hybrid infrastructure and mentor engineers to raise the technical bar of the group.

Requirements

• Deep, hands-on Kubernetes expertise with experience operating clusters at scale.
• Strong background in either public cloud (AWS preferred) or on-prem infrastructure, with the ability to work in both.
• Proficiency in Linux and networking, with the ability to debug complex issues from container to network edge.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and GitOps delivery (ArgoCD).
• Software engineering skills in Go or Python, focused on building reliable tooling.
• Proven track record of technical ownership and ability to drive consensus across engineering teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with GPU infrastructure for training or inference at scale.
• Knowledge of distributed storage systems like Ceph.
• Experience supporting researchers or data scientists as platform customers.
• Networking expertise at the BGP level.
