Staff Software Engineer: Platform SRE

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands; office attendance required three times a week

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate reliable, scalable infrastructure across AWS and other cloud platforms.
• Evolve Kubernetes, Helm, Argo deployment systems, and platform guardrails for safe service deployment and operation.
• Improve the OpenMetrics and Datadog observability stack and incident response tooling.
• Set standards for Terraform infrastructure-as-code and build reusable infrastructure patterns.
• Create and support CI/CD pipelines, build tooling, and artifact repositories.
• Partner across product and engineering teams on platform-wide infrastructure changes.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering, site reliability engineering, or infrastructure engineering experience, including substantial production infrastructure work.
• Deep cloud infrastructure knowledge and hands-on AWS experience.
• Strong infrastructure-as-code skills, preferably with Terraform.
• Software engineering skills for building automation and production tooling in a general-purpose programming language.
• Experience leading incident response, conducting blameless post-mortems or COE processes, and implementing follow-up actions.
• Strong judgment in security, IAM, networking, change management, communication, and cross-team alignment.

Nice to have

• AWS operations at scale across multiple accounts, regions, and availability zones.
• GitOps and continuous delivery tools such as Argo CD.
• Identity and Access Management at scale, including OIDC.
• Disaster recovery, business continuity, resilience testing, cloud cost efficiency, and resource utilization experience.
