Senior Platform Engineer (API)

Location: The Hague, Netherlands; hybrid working

Salary: €5,933–€7,910 per month based on a 40-hour working week, depending on knowledge and experience.

What you will do

• Provision, maintain, and improve the WSO2 API platform deployed on Kubernetes in AWS.
• Develop microservices and enable business teams to focus on high-value work.
• Build and manage deployment pipelines using modern software engineering and GitOps practices.
• Improve reliability, test automation, shift-left practices, and the overall engineering experience.
• Develop the platform as a software product using lean and agile delivery, pull requests, and phased releases.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in platform engineering and programming, ideally with Java.
• Experience with Kubernetes and solid AWS knowledge across networking, PaaS, IaaS, and IAM.
• Experience with API Management platforms such as WSO2, Kong, or MuleSoft.
• Experience with GitOps deployment management and AWS CDK or Terraform.
• Strong English communication skills required, along with analytical and collaboration skills.
• Ability to solve problems creatively, maintain coding quality, prioritize work, and collaborate effectively.

Nice to have

• Quarkus experience.
• CKAD certification.
• Working knowledge of Python.
