Manager of Indirect Procurement (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Lead, support, and develop a small team of buyers while managing priorities and workload.
• Oversee indirect procurement categories including transport, facilities, professional services, tools, IT equipment, training, and operational support.
• Own selected categories hands-on, managing sourcing activities, supplier relationships, and commercial topics.
• Develop and implement category and sourcing strategies that balance cost, quality, service, risk, and business needs.
• Manage RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, supplier evaluations, negotiations, and contract awards.
• Drive savings, cost avoidance, process improvements, supplier performance, procurement KPIs, and compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Several years of procurement experience focused on indirect procurement and category management.
• Experience leading, coordinating, or mentoring buyers, project teams, or cross-functional procurement activities.
• Experience managing indirect categories such as transport, facilities, professional services, tools, or IT equipment.
• Strong negotiation, contract management, supplier management, commercial, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Understanding of procurement governance, supplier risk, compliance requirements, and strategic sourcing.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace, manufacturing, defense, or another regulated industry.
• Professional procurement certification such as CIPS or CPSM.
