TL;DR
Hardware Installation/Test Engineer (FAA): Leading automation system installations, integration, checkout, and acceptance testing for FAA STARS equipment at designated sites with an accent on operational readiness, stakeholder coordination, and safety. Focus on performing third-shift installation work, delivering technical briefings, resolving site implementation issues, and traveling two to three weeks per month during an eighteen-month deployment period.

Location: United States; remote role with frequent travel and site-based installation activities

hirify.global supports the FAA PSS Contract and its Civilian Division through technical engineering and site implementation services.

What you will do

  • Provide technical leadership and oversight for automation system installations through the Operational Readiness Decision.
  • Gather STARS equipment requirements with FAA sponsors and coordinate facilities and technical support teams.
  • Coordinate planning, delivery, installation, checkout, acceptance testing, and closeout activities at designated sites.
  • Perform installation and testing during third-shift hours, low-air-traffic periods, and facility shutdowns.
  • Prepare and deliver site briefings, status updates, and program review materials for FAA stakeholders.
  • Maintain site information in the Knowledge Sharing Network and communicate progress, issues, and risks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, electronics, information technology, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Experience with hardware installation, system integration, testing, or field deployment of technical or operational systems.
  • Experience working during off-hours, low-activity periods, or facility shutdowns.
  • Ability to coordinate with sponsors, facilities teams, technical support personnel, and government stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical briefings and status reporting.
  • Must be a US citizen and pass a BI investigation; extensive travel is required.
