Focus on assessing early-stage aerospace and defense concepts, owning flight-controls technical standards, and solving complex stability, control, and feasibility challenges.
Location: Remote within the United States; based in or associated with San Jose, California. Must be a U.S. Person under ITAR/EAR regulations and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance. Travel up to 10%.
Salary: $138,200–$190,100 base pay annually.

What you will do
- Lead flight control law design, flight dynamics modeling, and stability and control analysis for prototype vehicles.
- Develop embedded flight control and autopilot software from architecture through implementation and flight-test support.
- Support rapid prototyping from concept modeling and simulation through hardware-in-the-loop testing and flight tests.
- Own flight-controls and software technical approaches, standards, and development methods within Special Programs.
- Evaluate the technical feasibility of emerging concepts, requests for proposals, and mission requirements.
- Prepare technical documentation, trade studies, analysis packages, and internal or government-facing reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Controls, Electrical, or Computer Engineering.
- Experience with flight control law development, flight dynamics, or stability and control analysis for aerospace platforms.
- Experience developing embedded flight control or autopilot software.
- Familiarity with control design, simulation, and embedded software development tools.
- 8–12 years of relevant engineering experience, or equivalent rapid-prototyping or advanced-programs experience.
- U.S. Person status and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance are required.
