Registered Nurse (ICU, Critical Care)

Location: Lowell General Hospital, Main Campus, Massachusetts; on-site ICU-G unit. Schedule: 36 hours with rotating nights and days; weekends and holidays required.

Pay range: $37.18–$57.63 per hour.

What you will do

• Provide direct nursing care to ICU patients and their families in a complex care environment.
• Conduct and document accurate clinical assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Apply professional nursing judgment and evidence-based practice to changing patient needs.
• Manage patient assignments through effective delegation and collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Educate patients and families, support informed decisions, and coordinate discharge plans and referrals.
• Precept nurses, support new staff transitions, and participate in professional development and departmental committees.

Requirements

• Massachusetts RN licensure required.
• Current Basic Life Support certification required.
• Department-specific certifications may be required based on the patient-care area.
• RN experience must meet the requirements for the applicable career level, from Level I through Level IV.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and the healthcare team.
• Ability to apply the nursing process and meet the physical demands of patient care, including lifting, turning, prolonged standing, and walking.
