Senior Mechanical Advisor (Data Center)

Location: Remote, US, with approximately 40–60% travel to project sites

Base compensation: $150,000–$250,000 annually

What you will do

• Coordinate contractors, vendors, commissioning agents, client operations teams, and ownership groups throughout project execution.
• Drive commissioning processes, schedules, deliverables, startup activities, and testing execution.
• Review TAB reports, commissioning reports, O&M procedures, and other mechanical testing documentation.
• Support startup, testing, troubleshooting, and field execution for water- and airside HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and fuel oil systems.
• Analyze mechanical system operation against design intent, identify performance or efficiency issues, and verify installation quality.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers, consultants, and project teams across multiple active projects.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in commissioning, field engineering, mechanical infrastructure, or related construction and operations environments.
• Mission-critical or data-center infrastructure experience is required.
• Experience leading commissioning, startup, testing, or operational-readiness activities for complex mechanical systems.
• Strong knowledge of water- and airside HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and fuel oil systems.
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical systems in field and live operational environments.
• Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and coordination skills, including experience with building automation and monitoring systems.

Nice to have

• Experience reviewing drawings, specifications, submittals, and field installation documentation.
• Experience with CxAlloy, BIM360, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or Helix.
• Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, MET, or a related technical background.
• PE or EIT certification path, plus experience with Bluebeam and Microsoft Office.
