Communications Lead, DACH (AI)

Location: Munich, Germany; hybrid policy requires staff to work from one of the offices at least 25% of the time

What you will do

• Own the communications strategy for the DACH region, translating global research, product innovation, and company momentum into locally relevant stories.
• Lead corporate communications and create high-quality media and reference materials that strengthen Anthropic's position in Europe.
• Partner with go-to-market and policy teams to communicate Claude's enterprise value and Anthropic's responsible approach to safe AI.
• Develop policy communications covering AI's impact on science, education, and the public sector, while addressing sovereignty, copyright, and regulation.
• Build relationships with journalists, creators, influencers, customer executives, and other voices shaping the regional AI debate.
• Advise spokespeople and executives on communications, prepare them for media engagement, and build team operations and agency support.

Requirements

• Around 10 years of communications experience, ideally in-house at AI or high-growth technology companies.
• Fluency in German and English is required.
• Strong media-handling skills, particularly direct relationships with reporters in Germany.
• Strong understanding of the European AI landscape, including relevant companies, founders, investors, journalists, and policymakers.
• Experience running international communications programs for a US-headquartered technology company, including meaningful experience in Germany.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education, training, and professional experience in a relevant field.

Nice to have

• Communications experience at an AI company, high-growth startup, or research laboratory.
• Existing relationships with influential voices in Germany's AI debate.
• Experience in financial services, healthcare, or life sciences communications.
• Fluency in additional European languages.
