Building Management Systems Design Engineer (Data Centers)

Location: Clifton Park, NY or Phoenix, AZ, United States; travel to project sites may be required at less than 10%.

Base compensation: $65,000–$100,000 per year, varying by education, experience, skills, and location.

What you will do

• Produce detailed BMS and EPMS design documents using Autodesk Revit.
• Assist with systems network topology design and develop one-line detail diagrams.
• Learn to select and specify BMS equipment for greenfield, brownfield, hyperscale, enterprise, and colocation data center projects.
• Coordinate design elements with mechanical, electrical, telecommunications, fire protection, plumbing, architectural, civil, and structural disciplines.
• Support project deadlines, perform independent research, and manage multiple tasks.
• Participate in training and mentoring while working under the guidance of senior and mid-level engineers.

Requirements

• Entry-level candidates with a 2- or 4-year degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology are preferred.
• HVAC construction experience with a drafting certification may be considered.
• Ability to communicate clearly in written and spoken form and coordinate with colleagues, clients, and senior personnel.
• Ability to work independently, follow technical direction, and meet scheduled project deliverables.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams.
• Willingness to travel to project sites when required, with travel expected to be less than 10%.

Nice to have

• Internship, co-op, or consulting engineering experience.
• Construction industry experience.
• Educational or professional experience using Revit.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) status.
