Registered Nurse MICU (Critical Care)

Location: Tufts Medical Center; onsite clinical role with irregular hours and in-person patient care. Nursing practice must comply with the Massachusetts Nurse Practice Act.

Pay range: $43.01–$70.95 per hour.

What you will do

• Assess, plan, implement, document, and evaluate individualized care for patients throughout admission, treatment, and discharge.
• Provide nursing procedures, evidence-based interventions, medication administration, patient education, and family advocacy.
• Coordinate care with patients, families, physicians, nurses, case managers, and other disciplines.
• Monitor patient responses, update care plans, and manage emergency and crisis situations.
• Participate in quality, safety, regulatory, performance improvement, and patient satisfaction initiatives.
• Delegate responsibilities, support professional development, and may assume charge nurse functions.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license required.
• Basic Life Support certification required.
• Advanced certifications such as ACLS or PALS may be required for the department and type of care provided.
• Ability to provide age-appropriate, culturally and ethnically sensitive care across the lifespan.
• Ability to work with patients and equipment involving prolonged standing or walking, lifting and transfers, hazardous exposures, and unpredictable emergency situations.
