Safety Specialist I or II (Transmission and Distribution)

Location: Alvarado, Texas, United States. This is a location-based field position performed at company-designated office or field locations, with ongoing travel to project worksites and extended site visits.

Salary: USD $73,000.00 per hour, paid weekly via direct deposit.

What you will do

• Visit project sites to observe and document safety behaviors, work conditions, PPE hazards, and quality-focused safety practices.
• Coordinate with Operations to create site-specific safety plans and participate in project kickoff, progress, and safety meetings.
• Ensure alignment with client requirements, company policies, OSHA standards, and local, state, and federal environmental and occupational safety regulations.
• Coach and mentor project personnel and coordinate required orientations, refresher training, customer training, and corrective-action training.
• Investigate accidents and injuries, perform root cause analyses, manage incident documentation, and follow up on corrective actions.
• Support safety committees by assessing performance trends and improving safety processes and tools.

Requirements

• At least two years of experience in environmental, health, and safety roles.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA and other industry safety regulations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and independent-working skills.
• Applicants must already be authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Safety certification such as CSHO, CHST, SMS, SSH, or CSP.
• Undergraduate degree in Safety Management or a related field.
• Understanding of electric construction project management practices.
