Senior Building Management Design Engineer (BMS)

Location: Hybrid role based in Atlanta, GA; Clifton Park, NY; Dallas, TX; Phoenix, AZ; or Seattle, WA

Base compensation: $90,000–$120,000 per year, depending on education, experience, skills, and location.

What you will do

• Design and technically develop BMS, EPMS, and control sequences for mission critical facilities.
• Prepare sequences of operation, network architecture diagrams, points lists, BMS specifications, and control panel and I/O requirements.
• Define integration strategies across BMS, PLCs, mechanical and electrical systems, and third-party monitoring platforms.
• Coordinate system logic, network architecture, and cabling requirements with internal engineers, clients, vendors, and commissioning agents.
• Develop company-wide BMS design standards, documentation details, and templates.
• Perform QA/QC reviews and site visits to verify designs, construction progress, and installed conditions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in building automation or HVAC controls design, preferably in consulting or mission critical environments.
• Strong understanding of HVAC operation and control logic.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Controls Engineering, or significant equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, TCP/IP, PLC-based systems, and DDC-based BMS systems.
• Experience with Division 23, 25, and 26 specifications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for describing complex control sequences.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of electrical power systems, including distribution equipment, generators, and UPS systems, for monitoring and integration.
• Experience in consulting or mission critical environments rather than solely in manufacturing or process automation.
