Insurance Placement Specialist - New Business (Commercial Property & Casualty)

What you will do

• Manage the marketing and placement of new small-business commercial insurance opportunities with partner carriers.
• Build relationships with producers and carrier partners, gathering information needed for quotations.
• Assess carrier appetite, market trends, pricing practices, underwriting policies, and available coverages.
• Negotiate opportunities with carriers, use carrier rating tools, and collaborate with underwriters and the Team Lead.
• Prepare marketing summaries covering terms, rates, commissions, bind-order documents, carrier responses, and declinations.
• Bind coverage, finalize placements, and maintain complete account documentation in agency management systems.

Requirements

• 3–7 years of experience in commercial Property & Casualty insurance.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Property & Casualty coverages, placement, underwriting, and rating concepts.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, prioritize workflow, solve problems, and negotiate effectively.
• Knowledge of agency management systems and underwriting, sales, and service processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Must hold a state Property & Casualty insurance license or obtain one within an agreed timeframe.

• College degree.
• Insurance designations such as CIC, ARM, AAI, or CPCU.
