Senior DevOps Engineer (Kubernetes)

Location: Hybrid in Frisco, Texas; candidates must live within a commutable distance to the Frisco office and work onsite as needed. When not onsite, work is performed from a home office.

Salary: USD $107,430–$176,490 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and operate production-scale Kubernetes platforms on Amazon EKS and Google GKE, including multi-region deployments.
• Manage cluster provisioning, upgrades, patching, scaling, business continuity, and disaster recovery with minimal downtime.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Harness.
• Develop Terraform modules, platform automation, Backstage templates, scaffolding workflows, and service catalog capabilities.
• Implement DevSecOps, secure software supply chain controls, observability, SLIs, SLOs, and platform health metrics.
• Participate in incident response and root cause analysis while collaborating with platform, SRE, and engineering teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of DevOps or Platform Engineering experience with hands-on Kubernetes experience at production scale.
• Proficiency with Terraform, CI/CD automation, Kubernetes networking, RBAC, and autoscaling.
• Strong programming skills in Golang or Python.
• Experience with AWS and GCP, Backstage, service mesh technologies such as Istio or Envoy, Cilium, and API gateways.
• Experience with DevSecOps, secure software supply chains, artifact governance, and Apache Kafka operations.
• Must be within commuting distance of the Frisco office and available for onsite work as needed.

Nice to have

• Contributions to the CNCF ecosystem or Backstage open source project.
• AWS or GCP Solutions Architect certification.
• CKA, CKAD, or CKS certification.
• HashiCorp Terraform Associate or an equivalent CI/CD certification.
• Experience with AI-powered DevOps or AIOps solutions.
