Software Engineer II (Enterprise AI)

Location: Hartford, Connecticut, United States. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not available.

Annual base salary: $120,400–$198,700, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Design, build, and deliver AI-powered solutions, enterprise AI platform integrations, and working prototypes.
• Use large language models, agentic workflows, AWS and/or Azure services, and Kubernetes to solve business problems.
• Lead application and solution design with architects, product owners, and business technology stakeholders.
• Own delivery from scoping and development through handoff, knowledge transfer, monitoring, and incident resolution.
• Translate operational needs into technical solutions and provide field intelligence for the AI product roadmap.
• Guide junior engineers and contribute to code quality, solution design, and delivery standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related STEM field, or equivalent education and work experience.
• Four additional years of software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure.
• Experience with Kubernetes, RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
• Experience designing and delivering agentic workflows, LLM integrations, or AI-powered automations.
• Ability to collaborate with non-technical stakeholders and present technical concepts to technical, business, and executive audiences.

Nice to have

• Terraform and infrastructure-as-code experience.
• MongoDB or comparable NoSQL database experience.
• Temporal or comparable workflow orchestration experience.
• Prompt engineering, RAG architecture, LLM evaluation, MCP server configuration, or multi-agent framework experience.
