Data Analyst (SQL/Python)

Location: Waterloo, Ontario, Canada; hybrid work with onsite attendance required on an as-needed basis

Salary: CAD 85,580–115,780 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

What you will do

• Lead strategic analytics projects across business functions, moving from descriptive reporting to diagnostic and predictive analysis.
• Identify business variances such as retention declines and funnel leakage, determine root causes, and recommend solutions to leadership.
• Own projects from problem definition through deployed solutions, including stakeholder management, requirements definition, and delivery.
• Design and build scalable data pipelines and analytical sandboxes in Databricks using PySpark and SQL.
• Translate complex findings into clear narratives and present insights to technical and executive audiences.
• Improve data governance, definitions, documentation, integrity, and trust in business metrics.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline, plus 2+ years of experience.
• Professional proficiency in SQL and Python for exploring, transforming, and analyzing large-scale relational and analytical datasets.
• Understanding of logical and physical data modeling, data structure design, data architecture, and data integration.
• Ability to maintain data integrity across multiple sources and translate business requirements into scalable, reliable data solutions.
• Experience with statistical analysis and experimentation, including Frequentist, Bayesian, or multivariate A/B testing.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.
