IT Data Governance Intern (AI)

Location: Canada; hybrid work with three days per week of in-person presence, including office work or market-facing engagements. Legal eligibility to work in Canada is required.

Salary: CAD 45,000–60,000 per year.

What you will do

• Document business definitions, data quality rules, mappings, and metadata for critical data elements.
• Support data quality assessments using SQL scripts, data profiling, anomaly detection, and AI-assisted rule generation.
• Prepare data quality and data governance dashboards and reports.
• Create and maintain data catalogs, lineage documentation, business definitions, and other governance artifacts.
• Contribute to applications and solutions that improve data discoverability, explainability, and trust for analytics and AI.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Data Management, Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Knowledge of SQL for querying, analyzing, and validating data.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with data analytics, reporting, or business intelligence concepts.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, critical-thinking, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python libraries such as Pandas or PySpark.
• Basic understanding of enterprise data quality and data validation techniques.
• Customer-focused problem-solving experience and the ability to work independently.
