Analytics Engineer (Financial Services)

Location: Must be located in Canada and able to work EST/EDT hours. Fully remote, partially remote, or fully office-based work environments are available in cities with local offices.

Salary: $100,000–$115,000 CAD annually for work performed in Ontario.

What you will do

• Cleanse and transform raw data into business logic for reports and data models.
• Analyze business needs and recommend suitable data sources.
• Build data pipelines and feed data models in collaboration with the Central Data Team.
• Champion data quality, availability, searchability, and documentation across Financial Services.
• Write maintainable, high-performing queries and scripts using version control and CI/CD.
• Automate data-model testing, implement validations, and maintain Looker reports or dashboards.

Requirements

• Experience with SQL and Python or an equivalent language.
• Experience with MPP data warehouses, preferably BigQuery, and data orchestrators.
• Experience with dbt or Dataform, data profiling, data mapping, and data quality validation.
• Knowledge of data warehousing, data modeling, GCP environments, and containerization solutions.
• Experience with source control, CI/CD, and automated testing, plus a security mindset for SOX and GDPR compliance.
• Fluent English as a working language is required. Strong communication, problem-solving, collaboration, and independent-working skills are expected.

Nice to have

• Experience in Payments or Financial Services.
• Experience working with SaaS solutions.
• Strong knowledge of cloud services, especially AWS and GCP.
