Configuration Manager (IT Configuration Management)

Location: Hanscom AFB, Bedford, Massachusetts, United States; onsite

Salary: $105,000–$115,000 per year, depending on experience, certifications, and qualifications.

What you will do

• Develop and administer configuration management plans for software, hardware, firmware, peripherals, engineering documents, and design baselines.
• Manage configuration identification, change control, status accounting, repositories, archival systems, inventories, and configuration records.
• Convene and manage Configuration Control Boards, Technical Review Boards, and Data Requirements Review Boards; document decisions, minutes, findings, and action items.
• Review contractor configuration programs and CDRL data deliveries for accuracy, completeness, compliance, and conformance to requirements.
• Prepare for and support Physical Configuration Audits, Functional Configuration Audits, engineering assessments, and IT system configuration reviews.
• Collaborate with program management, systems engineering, quality management, requirements, risk management, software engineering, and design teams in an integrated product team environment.

Requirements

• Secret security clearance required at the time of hiring.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least five years of experience in the relevant technical or professional discipline, including three years in the Department of Defense; or seven years of directly related experience with the required certifications, including five years in the DoD.
• Experience with configuration management in a DoD environment, including configuration audits, change control, baseline management, and configuration documentation.
• Experience managing CM tools for inventory control, version control, data duplication, media labeling, software repositories, and configuration status.
• Understanding of the software development life cycle, CDRL requirements, release notes, CM reporting, and configuration change control boards.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, database data entry and manipulation abilities, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
