Senior Actuarial Analyst / Actuarial Consultant (Pricing & Consulting) (Healthcare Insurance)

What you will do

• Lead pricing reviews across medical and non-medical products using claims, utilisation, premium, membership, provider, and expense data.
• Develop pricing assumptions, profitability assessments, scenario analyses, and business cases for new business, renewals, and strategic decisions.
• Design, enhance, and maintain actuarial pricing models, tools, and methodologies with strong governance, testing, validation, and documentation.
• Improve pricing processes through automation, standardisation, and analytical tools including Excel, Alteryx, SQL, Power BI, and Python.
• Partner with Underwriting, Finance, Product, Commercial, and Operations teams to support portfolio pricing and profitability decisions.
• Monitor claims trends and portfolio experience, deliver client and portfolio profitability reviews, and present recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Requirements

• Experience in actuarial pricing, insurance pricing, healthcare insurance, or a related analytical environment.
• Progress toward or completion of a recognised actuarial qualification and a degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, economics, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Strong experience in pricing, experience analysis, profitability assessment, claims trend analysis, financial modelling, and business case development.
• Experience with healthcare, medical, life, disability, accident, income protection, or other insurance products.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with Alteryx, SQL, Power BI, Python, or similar analytical and automation tools.
• Strong understanding of actuarial modelling, pricing governance, control frameworks, risk management, and communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
