Pricing Actuary (Hybrid, 80 - 100%)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada; hybrid work with an expectation to be in the office at least three days per week

Salary: CAD $114,000–$142,000 base salary annually

What you will do

• Execute complex case pricing, specializing in Alternative Risk Transfer structures.
• Build technical portfolio insights to improve financial performance management and profitability views across business lines.
• Analyze diverse portfolio data sources and perform statistical analysis.
• Communicate analytical findings to underwriters, Portfolio Managers, Reserving Actuaries, Finance, and other stakeholders.
• Conduct actuarial rate reviews and update costing parameters in hirify.global-developed models.
• Develop and enhance actuarial models through dedicated project work.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or numerical subject from a recognized university.
• Significant experience in an actuarial position, ideally in a long-tail line of business.
• Experience pricing large transactions with complex structures, including Alternative Risk Transfer.
• Qualified Actuary or progressing toward qualification.
• Excellent MS Excel skills and proficiency in R, Python, or SQL.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas to diverse audiences.
