TL;DR
Security Supervisor (Event Security): Supervising building and event security officers across a live entertainment venue with an accent on guest safety, team leadership, and emergency readiness. Focus on scheduling guard forces, training and coaching officers, managing incidents and reports, and coordinating security operations in a 24 X 7 environment.
Location: Chicago, IL; onsite, including nights, weekends, holidays, and split days off in a 24 X 7 environment
Salary: $34–$36 USD per hour

What you will do
- Supervise and lead building and event security officers and support personnel.
- Train, evaluate, coach, and develop frontline colleagues while maintaining safe and exceptional guest experiences.
- Manage scheduling, invoices, incident reports, daily reports, documentation logs, and security equipment readiness.
- Coordinate with venue, facilities, custodial, and other internal teams to address operational issues and emergency situations.
- Respond to customer concerns and support security programs, equipment inventories, VIP walkthroughs, process improvements, and long-term projects.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of supervisory experience in security, law enforcement, or the military; security experience is required.
- Experience with guard force scheduling and management, security advances, officer training, security emergencies, physical security projects, crowd management, or security policy writing.
- Strong communication, collaboration, conflict-management, coaching, mentoring, and staff-accountability skills.
- Experience completing reports and documenting staff performance.
- Ability to complete a physical fitness examination and perform duties involving lifting 25 lbs., prolonged standing, long-distance walking, bending, and constant motion.
- Must be willing to travel to other locations as needed and work a flexible schedule in an onsite 24 X 7 environment.
Nice to have
- Preferred union experience and experience in events, sports, theatre operations, or entertainment venues.
- At least 60 college credit hours or comparable development through certifications or trade-school coursework.
- Prior U.S. military non-commissioned officer experience leading small units, training, and managing personnel.
