Credit Analyst (Finance)

Location: Hartford, Connecticut, United States

Salary: $99,100–$163,400 annual base salary, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Serve as the primary credit risk management analyst and contact for assigned industry sectors.
• Analyze prospects and customers, produce credit ratings and documentation, and make credit and collateral recommendations.
• Partner with agents, brokers, customers, marketing, underwriting, billing, collections, management, and investment community contacts.
• Participate in renewal and new business activities, including client and prospect calls and investor presentations.
• Conduct target market research and competitive intelligence for industries, regions, business groups, and accounts.
• Identify process improvements and support the evaluation of credit analysis systems and methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in credit risk management or financial analysis.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to balance timeliness and accuracy.
• Background in financial analysis, risk assessment, and portfolio management.
• Knowledge of an assigned industry segment and exposure to marketing and underwriting functions.
• Ability to communicate effectively, work independently, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Seven years of experience in credit risk management, financial analysis, and/or risk assessment.
• Master’s degree.
• Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or another professional designation.
