Registered Nurse, Occupational Health

Location: Mount Holly, North Carolina, United States. Onsite work at a client health center on the second shift, Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–11:45 PM.

What you will do

• Provide independent occupational health nursing care, including employee injury assessments, emergency response, wound care, and return-to-work evaluations.
• Evaluate, prioritize, and treat patients within the scope of practice while delivering evidence-based care.
• Conduct medical surveillance, regulatory health services, and screenings such as hearing tests, respiratory physicals, drug and alcohol testing, EKGs, audiometry, spirometry, and vision testing.
• Coordinate case management, transitional duty programs, accident investigations, return-to-work programs, and workplace safety initiatives.
• Administer medications and emergency care, maintain patient records and medical equipment, and follow infection-control procedures.
• Educate patients, participate in follow-up care, and collaborate on health promotion and injury-prevention programs.

Requirements

• Certificate from an accredited nursing school or an Associate degree in Nursing is required; a BSN is preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice is required.
• At least three years of Registered Nurse experience in occupational health, emergency-room, or ambulatory-care settings.
• Current hands-on Basic Life Support certification from AHA, ARC, or an equivalent provider is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support may be required depending on the contract scope.
• Experience promoting safe and productive workplaces through hazard mitigation, health screenings and education, fitness-for-duty evaluations, and return-to-work examinations.

Nice to have

• Certification in Occupational Health (COHN/COHN-S), Emergency Nursing, or Case Management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
