Registered Nurse, RN- Acute Care Transistion Team

Location: Lowell General Hospital, Main Campus, Emergency Room, Lowell, Massachusetts, United States. Full-time evening shift, 32 hours, with weekend and holiday commitment.

Pay range: $37.50–$68.47 per hour.

What you will do

• Provide acute inpatient nursing care for patients awaiting inpatient beds, primarily in the Emergency Department.
• Conduct and document clinical assessments and develop, implement, and revise individualized plans of care.
• Apply evidence-based practice, professional nursing judgment, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Manage patient assignments, delegate effectively, and collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and the healthcare team.
• Educate patients and families, support informed decisions and advance directives, and coordinate discharge plans with appropriate referrals.
• Support onboarding and professional growth through staff development, precepting, education, and committee participation.

Requirements

• Massachusetts RN licensure required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Experience requirements vary by career level: Level I requires less than 12 months of RN experience; Level II requires 12 months to less than 3 years; Level III requires 3 to less than 8 years; Level IV requires 8 years.
• Department-specific certifications relevant to the patient population may be required.
• Strong communication skills and knowledge of the nursing process.
• Ability to lift and turn patients, stand and walk for extended periods, and work around infectious disease, blood-borne pathogens, and chemicals.
