Senior Packaging Technologist

Location: Nijmegen, Netherlands; onsite at the R&D Centre

hirify.global hosts the role within its EM&DM R&D Packaging team.

What you will do

• Lead packaging development projects covering primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging with a consumer-first mindset.
• Provide packaging material and format recommendations for large and complex projects, working independently with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Deliver NPD, value engineering, and supply-chain projects through R&D governance and established best practices.
• Lead packaging-related equipment implementation, filling-line commissioning, and CAPEX maintenance projects across the supply-chain network.
• Develop and industrialize robust, cost-efficient, and sustainable packaging solutions with effective risk management.
• Coach members of the wider packaging team and build strong relationships across R&D, operations, regulatory, sustainability, procurement, suppliers, and brand teams.

Requirements

• Degree in packaging, engineering, or science.
• More than 8 years of experience in packaging development within a complex or matrix organization.
• Strong understanding of packaging materials, formats, engineering requirements, and consumer needs.
• Good understanding of PPWR legislation and the ability to translate it into technical concepts.
• Strong communication, influencing, stakeholder management, prioritization, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent business English in written and verbal communication.
