TL;DR
Athletic Trainer, Swim & Dive (Sports Medicine): Evaluating, treating, and rehabilitating injuries for Texas A&M swim and dive athletes with an accent on preventive care, emergency response, and athlete health coordination. Focus on injury documentation, team travel, athletic trainer education, sports compliance, and maintaining training-room equipment and supplies.

Location: College Station, Texas, United States. Full-time onsite role with required travel with the assigned sport and flexible work hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Salary: Commensurate with selected candidate experience.

Texas A&M Athletics supports more than 650 student-athletes competing in NCAA Division I-A sports within the Southeastern Conference.

What you will do

  • Evaluate, treat, and rehabilitate injuries among Texas A&M athletes.
  • Provide preventive and emergency care at practices and competitions, including taping, bracing, and athlete preparation.
  • Travel with assigned swim and dive teams as required.
  • Coordinate healthcare with physicians, athletes, medical facilities, coaches, parents, nutrition staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain injury records and documentation using current systems and protocols.
  • Support student athletic trainer education, sport scheduling, training-room operations, equipment, supplies, and compliance with NCAA, SEC, and Texas A&M rules.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a curriculum accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.
  • At least one year of full-time, or three years of part-time, paid or voluntary experience as a student trainer.
  • Certification by the Board of Certification of the National Athletic Trainers Association.
  • Ability to sit for a State of Texas license to practice athletic training.
  • Computer, medical and first aid, joint taping, and physical therapy skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree.
  • CPR certification.
  • Automatic External Defibrillator certification.
