Risk Control Technical Consultant, Field

Location: Rancho Cordova, California, United States; field role with approximately 20%–50% onsite customer work and long-distance or overnight travel as needed.

Annual base salary: $94,400–$155,800, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Evaluate hazards, controls, and management practices for large, complex, all-lines commercial accounts.
• Complete risk assessments for manufacturing, warehouse, fleet, multi-location, products liability, and other significant exposures.
• Partner with Underwriting to select, retain, and grow a profitable book of business.
• Write technically detailed reports with clear risk assessments and actionable recommendations.
• Analyze losses, identify uncontrolled exposures, and influence customers to implement corrective actions.
• Build productive relationships with Underwriting, Claims, Risk Control, and Brokers while providing risk mitigation solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or graduate degree in environmental health and safety, engineering, construction management, basic sciences, or a related technical field.
• At least five years of experience in safety, risk control or management, occupational or environmental health and safety, science, engineering, construction, manufacturing, or relevant military service.
• Strong knowledge of the insurance industry and business acumen.
• Recognized certifications such as ASP, CSP, ARM, or CFPS are relevant.
• Strong technical aptitude, critical thinking, communication, influencing, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to attain state-specific certifications where applicable.
