Project Scientist (Hazardous Building Materials)

Location: Miami, Florida; based in Miami-Dade, Broward, or Palm Beach County, with travel to client locations throughout Florida and Georgia.

Salary: USD $55,016–$85,000 per year, plus potential eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Assess and test mold, water damage, moisture, indoor air quality, and asbestos-containing hazardous building materials.
• Maintain field assessment and report-writing schedules while meeting strict deadlines.
• Produce detailed digital field diagrams and prepare or technically review written reports.
• Oversee projects, coordinate with contractors, and facilitate client–contractor communication.
• Read project specifications and drawings and provide technical support to other practices.
• Develop technical knowledge, cross-train in new service lines, and obtain relevant certifications and licenses.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience with water and mold damage, moisture mapping, and hazardous building material testing.
• Certified AHERA Asbestos Inspector and Florida Mold Assessor certifications are required.
• Ability to read floor plans or technical drawings and communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to work in various settings and climates and travel to client locations, including occasional overnight trips.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment physical, drug screen, background check, and motor vehicle records check.

Nice to have

• Experience with industrial hygiene assessments, lead-based paint, or radon.
• Motivation to learn new disciplines and expand technical skills.
