TL;DR
Finance Manager – Commercial & Reporting (Commercial Finance and Financial Reporting): Overseeing commercial accounting, month-end close, financial statements, controls, and reporting for Sales, ITC, and shared services with an accent on P&L and Balance Sheet analysis, AR health, audit readiness, and compliance. Focus on driving reporting automation, resolving commercial accounting issues, supporting SOX controls, and coaching a senior analyst.
Location: Freshwater, Australia; hybrid arrangement with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote

What you will do
- Oversee general ledger transaction processing for Commercial and MSG&A accounts, ensuring end-to-end integrity and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
- Lead month-end close activities and prepare internal P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.
- Analyze account balances, variances, AR aging, cash allocation, bad debt provisions, forecasting, and trade spend impacts.
- Partner with Sales Finance, ITC, Shared Services, and other stakeholders to resolve commercial accounting topics and improve control processes and reporting.
- Support external audits, SOX testing, internal controls, certification activities, and remediation of audit findings.
- Coach and develop a GCC-based offshore Senior Analyst through guidance, review, and oversight of deliverables.
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of experience in accounting or a similar field.
- Qualified accountant, such as CPA, CA, or equivalent, with an undergraduate business degree.
- Knowledge of Australian accounting standards and principles; knowledge of US accounting standards is desirable.
- Experience with a major ERP system such as BPCS or SAP, plus working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong analytical, logical, communication, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage priorities independently, and meet close and audit deadlines.
