What you will do

• Oversee accounts payable operations, including invoice validation, payment processing, vendor communication, fraud prevention, and compliance checks.
• Plan 13-week payment cashflow, manage overdue items, and reconcile trade accounts payable balances and supplier statements.
• Support GST, BAS, income tax, ATO, and ASIC compliance activities, including preparation and timely filing of required returns and reports.
• Maintain accounts receivable records, billing and invoicing data, overdue invoice follow-up, and cash forecasting.
• Support global finance activities such as bank reconciliations, payroll costing journals, accruals, intercompany reconciliations, transfer pricing, expatriate matters, and audit data collection.
• Coordinate correspondence with vendors, auditors, tax authorities, statutory authorities, and external providers.

Requirements

• Based in Wangaratta, Victoria, Australia.
• Understanding of accounting principles, tax law, and financial reporting.
• At least 5 years of overall finance experience, including at least 3 years in trade accounts payable functions.
• Diploma of Accounting at minimum; a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Auditing, or Economics and CPA or similar certification are preferred.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and Australian GAAP.
• Strong professional communication, Excel and ERP proficiency, structured work habits, time management, multitasking, and self-starting ability.

Nice to have

• Experience in an international construction business.
• Ability to lodge business activity statements with the Australian Taxation Office.
• CPA or similar professional certification.
