Senior Financial Accountant

Location: North Sydney, hybrid. Australian full working rights are required.

What you will do

• Coordinate month-end and year-end financial close, management reporting, consolidated reporting inputs, and statutory financial statements across ANZ entities.
• Own balance sheet reconciliations, account substantiation, financial control processes, and resolution of outstanding items.
• Manage the performance of outsourced finance providers, including delivery timelines, quality standards, issue resolution, and process improvement.
• Support accounting operations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, debt collection, payroll, tax filings, and annual audit activities.
• Implement and monitor Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR), identify control gaps, and drive remediation.
• Develop standardised reporting templates, automated dashboards, self-service reporting, and approved AI accounting tools with wider Finance teams.

Requirements

• Degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related discipline.
• Professional accounting qualification required; CA preferred.
• At least five years of relevant financial accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, technical accounting, financial controls, ANZ statutory reporting, taxation, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience preparing management accounts, statutory financial statements, consolidated reporting, compliance deliverables, and audit materials.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with reporting, reconciliation, workflow, and large ERP tools; SAP experience is preferred.
