Focus on solving complex corrosion issues, designing mitigation systems, reviewing remediation plans, and supporting regulatory audits and field operations.
Location: Onsite in Tucson or Phoenix, Arizona, United States; occasional travel to field or corporate locations may be required, approximately 10–25%.

What you will do
- Provide corrosion engineering, technical support, direction, and oversight for the Division 1 natural gas pipeline corrosion control program.
- Establish corrosion control priorities and ensure consistent application of company procedures across pipeline and storage assets.
- Develop, maintain, and train employees on corrosion control standards, policies, procedures, and operator qualification materials.
- Support field corrosion supervisors and technicians with complex issues involving stray current, cathodic protection, coatings, electrical isolation, surveys, and internal corrosion monitoring.
- Review inspection findings, remediation plans, project scopes, specifications, and corrosion mitigation designs.
- Perform failure analysis and root-cause investigations, support regulatory interactions and audits, and develop remediation plans.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a science discipline and typically at least 5 years of in-depth corrosion control experience.
- Experience with natural gas pipeline operations, corrosion control programs, cathodic protection, coatings, and internal corrosion monitoring.
- Knowledge of Federal and state pipeline safety regulations, including DOT 49 CFR Part 192 Subpart I, and relevant AMPP/NACE, SSPC, and ASME standards.
- Strong analytical, technical writing, communication, public speaking, project management, training, and mentoring skills.
- Advanced computer skills and familiarity with integrated data development and analysis; a valid driver’s license and good driving record are required.
- Must be able to work in an office environment in Tucson or Phoenix, Arizona, work outside normal business hours when needed, and respond to operational requests.
Nice to have
- Experience with pipeline integrity assessments, pressure testing, inline inspection, Direct Assessment, and non-destructive testing methods.
- Proficiency with American Innovations PCS software and knowledge of PCS/CPDM.
- Experience with PHMSA or state regulatory agencies and advanced AMPP/NACE Specialist certification.
