Operational Accountant – Finance & Tax (m/f/d)

What you will do

• Oversee accounting activities for Croatia and Serbia in collaboration with the Sofia-based accounting hub.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, including balance sheet reconciliations, payments, taxes, and statutory obligations.
• Prepare and review financial statements under local GAAP and IFRS, including chart-of-accounts mappings and adjustments.
• Coordinate corporate tax, VAT, and other local tax compliance with external advisors and group stakeholders.
• Act as a key contact for external auditors and headquarters on accounting, reporting, and tax matters.
• Support the harmonization, standardization, and automation of finance processes across Europe and provide backup for the direct manager.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in an accounting firm, audit, accounting, or advisory environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting, financial statements, and financial reporting.
• Experience with IFRS and multinational environments is advantageous.
• Knowledge of Croatian and/or Serbian accounting and tax regulations is advantageous.
• Analytical mindset, attention to detail, autonomy, adaptability, ownership, and team spirit.
• Fluent English is required as the working language. Serbian or Croatian language skills are advantageous.
