Location: Lowell General Hospital, Lowell, Massachusetts, United States; onsite clinical role.

Pay range: $44.17–$56.32 per hour. New external hires may receive a $10,000 sign-on bonus.

What you will do

  • Deliver prescribed radiation therapy accurately in accordance with the radiation oncologist’s instructions and accepted standards.
  • Prepare patients, treatment rooms, immobilization devices, treatment fields, and therapy equipment.
  • Verify prescriptions, consent forms, diagnoses, patient identification, treatment schedules, and required documentation before treatment.
  • Monitor patients during treatment and simulation, explain procedures, observe treatment reactions, and report findings to the radiation oncologist or nurse.
  • Assist with simulations, dosimetry calculations, contours, weekly treatment visits, chart conferences, and port films.
  • Perform daily physics and equipment checks, maintain treatment records, support scheduling and charge capture in IMPAC, and keep the therapy department organized.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Radiologic Science.
  • Certification in Radiation Therapy from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • License from the Massachusetts Radiation Control Board.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Ability to safely transfer and move patients, stretchers, and equipment; lift approximately 30–35 pounds.
  • Strong communication, attention to detail, patient-safety awareness, and ability to work independently in a clinical environment with radiation exposure.

  • One year of experience in radiation therapy.
