Principal Investigator (Aerospace Range Safety)

Location: Huntsville, Alabama; must be local to the work location, with occasional telework available

Salary: $1,000 per month

What you will do

• Lead program planning, design reviews, and technical oversight for Range Safety solutions supporting Major Range and Test Facility Bases.
• Architect, prototype, and integrate high-reliability systems aligned with Range Commanders Council requirements.
• Oversee system integration, testing, performance analysis, and delivery of prototypes and technical findings.
• Manage program milestones and transition R&D capabilities into production and operational use.
• Collaborate with government stakeholders, mission engineers, and subcontractors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience leading R&D programs as a Principal Investigator, Project Manager, or Program Manager.
• At least 5 years of relevant systems engineering experience, including MRTFB range safety exposure.
• Knowledge of MRTFB operations, flight test practices for ICBMs and UAVs, and RCC range safety standards.
• Experience demonstrating complex hardware/software systems in laboratory and field environments.
• Must possess and maintain a Secret clearance; ability to travel up to 25%.
