Range Safety / Flight Termination Engineer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Serve as the Range Safety expert for the Targets Program office during flight tests, working groups, and functionality testing.
• Support requirements development, allocation, and verification for targets flight termination system products.
• Oversee GFE and CFE hardware and software development, acceptance, qualification, integration, and checkout.
• Analyze and resolve range safety and flight termination issues in a dynamic, time-sensitive environment.
• Prepare summary and detailed reports documenting status, findings, and recommendations.
• Represent customer interests in working groups, forums, and Technical Interchange Meetings.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in a STEM-related field.
• 12+ years of relevant experience.
• Active DoD Secret security clearance and US citizenship required.
• Working knowledge of Range Safety Requirements and flight safety analysis products.
• Proficiency with range tracking systems, including inertial measurement, GPS, and C-band tracking.
• Proficiency with RCC-319 and RCC-324 range safety tracking standards, plus strong communication and Microsoft Office skills.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with autonomous flight termination systems.
• Flight Test Range Safety experience.
• Background in batteries, RF systems, ordnance, ordnance devices, or antennas.
• 10+ years of defense and aerospace experience.
