Assurance Manager - Consumer Goods

Location: Boston, United States; travel up to 25% of the year may be required depending on client assignments.

Salary: $89,800–$170,500 per year, plus eligibility for a discretionary performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Coordinate audits of financial statements, related disclosures, and other client deliverables.
• Assess engagement risks and design, communicate, and monitor audit procedures.
• Manage multiple engagement teams, supervise Audit Seniors and Supervisors, and monitor productivity and work-plan adherence.
• Review work products, evaluate performance, provide coaching, and support staff development and training.
• Maintain client relationships, anticipate concerns, identify performance-improvement opportunities, and communicate accounting and auditing matters to Senior Managers and Partners.
• Manage project profitability, support business growth, and stay current with GAAP and firm standards.

Requirements

• BS/BA degree in Accounting or an equivalent degree.
• CPA or CA certification.
• 5+ years of current or recent experience in public accounting.
• At least 4 years of team-lead or in-charge experience overseeing staff across multiple engagements.
• Experience leading teams and mentoring associates.
• Knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and FASB or IFRS regulations, with a record of building profitable and sustainable client relationships.

Nice to have

• Experience directing and deploying staff and Senior Associates across multiple simultaneous engagements.
• Fluency in French, German, Japanese, or Mandarin, including speaking, writing, and reading, with an understanding of the relevant culture and business practices.
• Experience managing relationships with large non-US companies operating significantly in North America.
