  • Conduct tissue engineering and biomedical engineering laboratory procedures, including protocol-based experiments and assay development.
  • Operate and maintain sensitive biomedical equipment and perform quality control checks.
  • Collect, analyze, document, and report experimental data to laboratory supervisors.
  • Modify and update protocols, maintain detailed laboratory records, and support formal data presentations or publications.
  • Train lower-level personnel and communicate research findings clearly in written and oral form.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or four years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree; foreign degrees require U.S. equivalency evaluation.
  • At least two years of related experience.
  • Working knowledge of tissue engineering or biomedical engineering principles and hands-on laboratory experience in these areas.
  • Experience executing laboratory protocols, collecting experimental data, maintaining accurate records, analyzing results, and performing routine quality control.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance; medical clearance and immunizations may be required because of potential exposure to infectious material.

Nice to have

  • Experience with organoid engineering, biomaterials manufacturing, extracellular matrix processing, bioreactor design, cell-based or molecular assays, biomedical optics, bioprinting, biophotonics, or prevascularization.

Culture & Benefits

  • Work within a research program supporting the NIH Standardized Organoid Modeling Initiative.
  • Benefits include health and wellness programs, income protection, paid leave, and retirement benefits.
  • The laboratory emphasizes accountability, compassion, collaboration, dedication, integrity, and versatility.
