What you will do
- Perform systems engineering and technical analysis for potential SPY-6 integration on foreign naval platforms.
- Develop and evaluate radar concepts, system architectures, requirements, specifications, and interface solutions.
- Apply model-based systems engineering methods and tools to requirements management, architecture development, design analysis, and technical decision-making.
- Conduct radar performance analysis and develop models for system-performance prediction, assessment, and verification.
- Support radar, combat-system, ship-platform, and subsystem integration activities.
- Provide test and evaluation support, including test planning, MATLAB-based data analysis, technical documentation, briefings, and recommendations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, computer, electronics engineering, mathematics, computer science, or physics; engineering degrees must be from a school with an ABET-accredited professional engineering curriculum.
- Four to six years of relevant engineering or scientific experience; advanced education may count toward the experience requirement.
- Experience with systems engineering for radar, sensors, combat systems, shipboard systems, or similarly complex technical systems.
- Experience with requirements development, decomposition, allocation, traceability, system specifications, interface definition, MBSE, technical analysis, and engineering reports.
- Some experience with Foreign Military Sales, international programs, or integrating U.S. defense systems onto foreign platforms.
- Must be able to work on-site at Naval Support Facility Dahlgren and must be a U.S. citizen. A current DoD Secret clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one is required.
Nice to have
- Advanced degree in engineering, mathematics, computer science, physics, or a related STEM discipline.
- Experience with SPY-6 or another advanced radar program, radar architecture, radar performance, signal processing, or sensor integration.
- Experience assessing shipboard integration constraints and interfaces.
- Experience with MATLAB, modeling and simulation, or other engineering-analysis tools.
- Familiarity with DoD acquisition and Foreign Military Sales processes, and experience communicating with international customers or partners.
