Senior Scientist, R&D - Packaging Development (Packaging)

Location: Glenview, IL; onsite work at the Glenview R&D Center. The role includes laboratory and production environments and requires 30% travel.

New hire base salary: $89,800–$112,200 per year, plus eligibility for a performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Lead packaging development projects across multiple business units and product categories.
• Define business needs, design and execute tests, analyze data, document findings, and communicate results.
• Manage packaging testing, qualification, and commercialization in laboratory and production environments.
• Translate research findings into relevant business opportunities and packaging specifications.
• Manage competing assignments, prioritize initiatives, and complete work with minimal guidance.
• Lead, coach, and motivate colleagues while collaborating across functions.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Packaging, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 4–6 years of experience in packaging development and commercialization, including internships.
• Strong knowledge of packaging materials, packaging equipment and material interactions, and packaging laboratory test methods.
• Excellent communication, influencing, problem-solving, teamwork, and prioritization skills.
• Willingness to travel 30% and work in laboratory and production environments.
