Data Protection and Privacy Operations Lead EMEA

Location: London, United Kingdom; office attendance at least four days per week with the option to work from home one day per week.

What you will do

• Run data protection and privacy operations for the non-U.S. Columbia Threadneedle business under the direction of the Ameriprise Global Privacy Office.
• Partner with business Privacy Risk Liaisons, Information Security, Compliance, Human Resources, and Transfer Agent teams to maintain and improve privacy program compliance.
• Monitor regulatory changes across EMEA and APAC and support responses to data protection and privacy regulators.
• Maintain privacy notices, policies, and procedures, and define privacy requirements for project Data Privacy Impact Assessments.
• Develop privacy training content, deliver education sessions, and prepare regular and incident-driven risk and compliance reports.
• Oversee Data Subject Access Requests, review fulfilment documents, communicate with data subjects, and lead an employee supporting DSARs and DPIAs.

Requirements

• Expertise in the General Data Protection Regulation, EU AI Act, and other global privacy laws, regulations, and industry guidelines relevant to asset management in EMEA and APAC.
• Ability to analyse legislative requirements, translate them into organizational practices, and assess privacy and data protection risks and impacts.
• Experience managing complex projects with cross-functional and global teams.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, prioritization, and influencing skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information, work independently, adapt to different audiences, and learn evolving technology.
• Ability to work in the London office at least four days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience in a similar role within the asset management industry.
• CIPP/E certification.
