TL;DR
Privacy Associate (GDPR/Data Protection): Advising on privacy, data protection, cybersecurity, and contract matters across Ireland, the UK, the EU, and other relevant jurisdictions with an accent on GDPR, cross-border data transfers, vendor due diligence, and privacy-sensitive agreements. Focus on conducting privacy impact assessments, coordinating breach response, negotiating data processing agreements, and monitoring developments in privacy and AI regulation.
Location: Dublin, Ireland or London, England; hybrid schedule with office attendance on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays

What you will do
- Advise on international privacy, data protection, and cybersecurity laws, including GDPR, UK GDPR, ePrivacy, CCPA, and CPRA.
- Enhance, implement, and maintain privacy, data protection, and cybersecurity policies and practices.
- Conduct privacy impact assessments, legitimate interest assessments, vendor due diligence, and cross-border data transfer reviews.
- Support records of processing activities and coordinate incident and breach response with Technology, Information Security, Legal, Compliance, and other stakeholders.
- Draft, review, and negotiate data processing agreements, vendor contracts, client agreements, subscription agreements, and technology and service agreements.
- Monitor privacy, data protection, cybersecurity, and AI developments; update notices and policies; deliver internal training; and support governance materials.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 4–8 years of post-qualification experience with hands-on privacy and data protection law experience.
- Strong contract drafting, review, and negotiation experience, particularly with DPAs, vendor agreements, and client contracts.
- Knowledge of EU and UK GDPR, cross-border data transfer mechanisms, ePrivacy laws, vendor and third-party risk, and cybersecurity fundamentals.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, including the ability to explain legal and technical privacy concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
- Strong research, analytical, organisational, and project management skills with close attention to detail.
Nice to have
- Experience in a regulated environment such as financial services, technology, data, or analytics.
- IAPP certification such as CIPP/E, CIPP/US, or CIPM.
