Intern/Co-op - Refining Mechanical Engineer (Spring 2027)

Location: Findlay, Ohio, with additional opportunities at refinery locations across the United States

Salary: $32.92–$41.67 per hour

What you will do

• Learn and apply industry codes, engineering best practices, and refinery operating principles.
• Work with refinery professionals across engineering disciplines and gain experience in multiple plant areas.
• Develop project scopes, cost estimates, and schedules for refinery projects.
• Oversee design activities and assist with construction for approved projects.
• Support maintenance through equipment improvements, root cause failure analysis, and maintenance program optimization.
• Troubleshoot rotating and fixed equipment, including pumps, compressors, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and piping systems.

Requirements

• Major in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering.
• Strong academic performance and concurrent enrollment in a degree-seeking program.
• Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time indefinite basis without current or future employment visa sponsorship.
• Valid driver's license.
• Availability for spring, summer, or fall semesters; availability for multiple work terms is preferred.
