What you will do

  • Inspect mechanical, electrical, and electronic subsystems during fabrication, installation, assembly, testing, modification, and repair.
  • Perform product verification through Mandatory Inspection Points and Government Mandatory Inspection Points.
  • Conduct receiving inspections for test articles and test support equipment, documenting facility and hardware discrepancies.
  • Witness hardware and facility assembly, test buildup, testing, and technician workmanship.
  • Verify contamination control requirements and adherence to published safety procedures.
  • Maintain floor coverage, exercise independent judgment, and apply quality requirements, methods, and procedures to complex assignments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of education or experience in inspection, quality assurance, manufacturing, auditing, maintenance, or a related field.
  • Experience with avionics, hardware/software integration, or process controls; familiarity with manufacturing and testing functions and technical drawings.
  • Proficiency operating test and measurement equipment, interpreting technical instructions and regulations, analyzing data, and writing reports.
  • Previous experience with NASA quality inspections and the ability to work effectively across disciplines.
  • Must be a US citizen and currently possess or be able to obtain Public Trust clearance.

Nice to have

  • Experience with the NASA system flight safety review process and NASA organizations and programs.
  • Direct participation in conducting and documenting space system safety reviews.
  • Understanding of system safety hazard analysis.
