TL;DR
Director, Deferred Compensation and LTIA (Deferred Compensation and Equity Programs): Leading the administration, governance, and strategic design of deferred compensation and long-term incentive award programs with an accent on regulatory compliance, cost effectiveness, and stakeholder alignment. Focus on managing 409A risk, overseeing vendors, simplifying plan administration, and developing a high-performing benefits administration team.

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States. Employees work in the office at least four days per week, with flexibility to work from home one day per week. Applicants must have valid U.S. work authorization and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Base salary: $117,900–$207,100 per year, with potential eligibility for variable pay and long-term incentives.

What you will do

  • Lead the administration and governance of deferred compensation and long-term incentive award programs.
  • Advise senior leaders and internal stakeholders on program design, modifications, and optimization.
  • Partner with Legal, Finance, HR, Payroll, HR Operations, and external advisors on program effectiveness, cost, and compliance.
  • Analyze plan costs and administration to simplify designs, improve benefit value, and reduce operational and regulatory risk.
  • Oversee recordkeeping vendors and processes for awards, vesting, distributions, and participant support.
  • Develop program communications and lead a team responsible for day-to-day administration and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent four-year education.
  • 10+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years in one or more benefits functional areas.
  • Deep knowledge of deferred compensation and equity programs.
  • Previous vendor management experience.
  • Strong financial, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience building and leading an effective team.
