Database Consultant (MySQL)

What you will do

• Ensure MySQL database performance, scalability, security, and availability.
• Design and implement MySQL databases and provide expertise on database architecture.
• Profile server resource usage and optimize database performance.
• Develop documentation, specifications, and MySQL best practices.
• Configure replication and provide guidance on tuning MySQL implementations.
• Support engineering teams migrating databases from Oracle to MySQL.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience managing MySQL databases.
• Experience with recent MySQL versions, storage engines including InnoDB and RocksDB, and replication configuration.
• Strong SQL writing and optimization skills, including knowledge of MySQL features such as the event scheduler.
• Experience architecting and designing MySQL databases and knowledge of MySQL limitations and workarounds.
• Familiarity with MongoDB, Git or SVN, E/R diagramming tools, and MySQL Workbench.
