Database Engineering Intern

What you will do

• Analyze business application data requirements and build conceptual and physical data models.
• Develop data migration and conversion strategies for internally hosted applications.
• Maintain reference data and coordinate with business analysts to align it with industry standards.
• Troubleshoot production data issues and identify and clean up junk data.
• Write SQL for tables, views, stored procedures, functions, reports, and triggers.
• Optimize the database tier with application teams and support the full software product lifecycle.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or holding a BS or BA in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, MIS, or a related technology field.
• Solid understanding of SQL and experience with database development concepts.
• Strong knowledge of Python object-oriented programming, design patterns, algorithms, and data structures.
• Familiarity with MariaDB, MySQL, DB2 AS400, or DB2 LUW is valuable for the database development work.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, adapt to changing priorities, solve problems, and communicate effectively with staff, management, and vendors.
• Working knowledge of REST APIs, Git, Linux/UNIX shell, HTML, and JavaScript.
